PRAYER POINT:
We'll pray fervently in the Spirit, interceding for the lost in our world, especially children, declare that they be turned from darkness to light and from the power of satan unto God, through the ministries of the Saints in all nations. They're brought into the glorious light of the Gospel of Christ.

TOPIC: LISTENING SKILLS- Cultivate attentive and empathetic listening
KEY LESSON 1: 30 MINUTES
INTRODUCTION/RECALL FROM PREVIOUS LESSON
In our last lesson, we learned about the Power of Words - that our words are important and God wants us to speak faith-filled words that build others up.
Today, we are learning the other part of communication. Before you can speak well, you must learn to listen well. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so we should listen twice as much as we speak.

DEFINITION OF DIFFICULT WORDS:
1. Attentive: To pay full attention with your ears, eyes and heart.
2. Empathetic: To try to understand how another person is feeling.
3. Distracted: When your mind is thinking of something else and not focusing.
4.Communication: Sharing and receiving information between people.

BIBLE STORY
BIBLE STORY: The Story of Young Samuel and Mary Who Chose to Listen.
In 1 Samuel 3, young Samuel was about 12 years old, serving in the temple. At night, God called him, "Samuel, Samuel!" Samuel ran to Eli thinking Eli called him. This happened three times. Finally, Eli told him, "When you hear the voice again, say, Speak Lord, for thy servant heareth." Samuel listened attentively, and God spoke to him and made him a great prophet because he knew how to listen.
Also, in Luke 10:38-42, Jesus visited two sisters - Martha and Mary. Martha was busy and distracted, cooking and cleaning. But Mary sat at Jesus' feet and listened attentively to every word Jesus said. Jesus said Mary chose the good part - the part of listening

Pastor Chris teaches us that our spirit is trained to hear God's voice when we give attention to the Word. If you are always distracted, playing, looking away when someone is talking to you, you will miss important instructions. An attentive listener keeps his eyes on the speaker, nods, and keeps his heart open. That is how Mary listened to Jesus. She was not distracted like Martha. Because she listened attentively, she received wisdom that Martha missed.
Therefore, as a child of God, you must practice listening every day. When your teacher is teaching, listen. When your parents are correcting you, listen.

SUMMARY OF LESSON:
Listening is more than just hearing sound; it is paying full attention with your ears, eyes, and heart to understand what God and others are saying. We learned from Samuel and Mary that God blesses children who listen attentively and empathetically.
When we cultivate good listening skills, we become wiser, we make fewer mistakes, we show love to others, and we hear God's voice clearly to do His will. A good listener is a wise child and a future leader.

MINUTES
Greek Word for the Day – NEPIOS*_Pronunciation: [nay-pee-os]
Pastor Chris teaches that NEPIOS is a Greek word that describes a baby, an infant, a childish one - not in age, but in understanding. It means someone who is not yet mature in thinking, who cannot speak correctly, who is still being carried, still needs milk, not solid food. It does not mean you are not born again; it means you are not yet grown in the Word.

Pastor Chris explains that a Nepios is a legal heir but cannot enjoy his
inheritance because he is still a child in understanding. Galatians 4:1 says, "Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child [NEPIOS], differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all." He explains that God wants us to move from Nepios to Huios - from baby Christian to mature son who understands his rights and speaks the right language. A Nepios talks about the problem, cries about everything, and is tossed to and fro. But a Huios speaks faith, knows who he is, and takes charge.

Illustration:
A Nepios can only take milk - he cries, "Mummy, help me!" for everything. He cannot use a knife and fork. But a mature son eats strong meat and can even feed others. In listening, a Nepios hears but forgets immediately, gets distracted, argues.
A Huios hears, understands, and acts. Pastor Chris says, "The Word of God is the food that moves you from Nepios to Huios." If you don't listen well to the Word, you will remain a Nepios, even though all of heaven's blessings belong to you
